A story game from Kerala, for ages 10 to 15

Live another life. Bring something back.

In GrandCraft you become someone else: a tea-shop helper, a ferry conductor, a girl born in 1955. Solve their problems, make their choices, then try one small thing in your own life.

Works on any phone. English and Malayalam. No ads, no purchases, no sign-up.

Pick a Life

Each Life is a story you play as one of its people. Pause one and start another; every Life waits where you left it.

    How a Life plays

    1. Step in

Choose a Life and how much help you want: gentle, standard or stretch.

    2. Play it

Riddles, investigations, quizzes, hard choices, and opinion questions where nobody is wrong.

    3. Do it for real

Each chapter ends with a small real-life mission. Do it with your family, or play the in-game version for the same reward.

    4. Keep it

Blessings, Wisdom Cards and coins go into your Passport, private to you.

Real life is the last level

Missions are tiered by safety. Children reach the higher tiers only through registered adults, and no mission ever needs photos, a location or contact with strangers.

    1. 0

      On your own

Plan a kindness, practise a skill, write the story you would tell.

    2. 1

      With your own family

Ask a grandparent about a dish, plan a trip together. A parent confirms with one tap.

    3. 2

      In a supervised group

Team challenges at school or at a registered GrandCraft Edition, confirmed by a teacher or organiser.

    4. 3

      In the community

Visits and service with older people, only in approved Editions with trained organisers.

    Your Passport

Everything you earn is kept in your Passport. Each kind of record means one thing, never turns into another, and can never be bought.

    Edition leaderboards

When schools and community groups run official GrandCraft Editions, teams earn Quest Points in fair, published challenges. Team results appear here.

    TeamEditionQuest Points
The first results arrive after the Kochi pilot in January 2027.

We rank teams within Editions. We never rank children on kindness or character.

    Our promise to parents

GrandCraft is built by an NGO for children's wellbeing, not for screen time.

    • No ads, and nothing to buy.
    • No chat with strangers.
    • No photos or location needed, ever.
    • Progress stays on the phone until a parent links an account.
    • A break reminder after 20 minutes, and a rest notice at night.
    • Older people appear as partners with their own views, never as props.

    Who makes GrandCraft

GrandCraft is developed by CEDAC, the Center of Excellence for Developing Age-Friendly Communities, a division of MAGICS NGO in Kochi, Kerala. It grows out of The Blessing Trail, our school programme that brings young people and older people together.

GrandCraft is a prototype. Its stories and features are being tested with children and older adults, and the first public pilot runs in Kochi in January 2027.
